Which Netbook or Small Notebook??
Looking to purchase a netbook or small notebook for business as I spend a vast majority of my time out onsites.
I run a terminal server in the office so it doesn't need massive grunt as anything complex is run on the server not the standalone machine. It will be a secondary machine as I use my desktop in the office. Looking at the eepc but hoping for some feedback on any that you might have or use. Also a small portable printer for the odd bits and pieces when out and about. Any tips or feedback on what the better ones are for usability etc? cheers

Thanks I had already looked there, just wondering if there was any updated information as there tends to be new releases coming out all the time.

I am looking for the exact same thing
I was in JB hifi and harvey norman today looking for netbook/ notebook. Netbooks just are rubbish. They are small, flimsy with tiny keys (how can a man actually use one?) I found an allright one but it had a 12 inch screen. Almost not a netbook anymore but they wanted 1200 for it. I found this compaq presario at harvey norman for 599. Full size notebook 14 inch inbetween a netbook and notebook http://www.harveynorman.com.au/m/com...au-laptop.html this is what I looked at today. It has seperate graphics card (which is good) and all the other shit you need. Processor is the big let down. It is quite slow but it is a hell of a lot faster than these netbooks getting around. This is where I am leaning ATM. but I will keep looking. I think for the small size you really pay a premium , for about 700-900 you can get a better 'laptop' |

missus just bought an Acer Aspire One (i think the AOD150) with upgraded 2GB ram.
Seems like a good laptop, we chose it mainly because it had a 'normal' keyboard, much easier to type. Odd mouse button would be its only weakpoint so far.

I have one of those Asus eeePC 1000HE.. I fucken love it and it runs everything fast enough(upgraded to 2GB RAM). I also got rid of XP and chucked on Windows 7 and again, runs everything. Probably wouldnt run any new games but runs older ones fine.
Can also overclock them (both FSB and GPU clock) for to get everything out of it.. The Atom's love it.
