Normally, in order for me to like a show there is certain criteria that needs to be met.
Stargate falls short in nearly every department. Yet despite all this, I really like the show.
Something about the cheesy acting and dodgy stories that quite often don't make sense, I just find it entertaining (which is the most important thing afterall). I preferred atlantis and was disappointed to see it canceled. Apparently they are making an Atlantis movie though to finish off the series.

i liked the episodes where they were taking the piss out of their own show... 'wormhole extreme' etc

Yeah I guess one of the reasons I like it is the silly humour. They don't seem to take themselves too seriously.
