Chevy Badge on a Holden WTF is the deal
 

Seems like every second Holden Ute or SSV I see has some sort of Chevy Badge on it boot these days and all I can think of is Why do this. In the good old USA a Chevy badge is like a badge of redneck trailer park trash pride so why the fark do it here?

I can see where you are coming from, I think they look ok with just the chev badges, do they actually sell one with these or are they all aftermarket stick-ons?

The local bogans think that they have a Chevrolet engine in their Holdens so they put Chevy badges on them. They should really put GM badges if anything. I bet you don't see any Chevrolets with Holden badges in the states Dave :D

What cracks me up even more that having them on an SS or SSV is the tools with Chev badges on a V6 commodore/SV6 with an australian built V6 ffs!!!

I do tend to agree it's like putting STi badges on a std rex though!!

Missus has a Holden Cruze (which is really a Suzuki Ignis or something. I wanna get Chev badges for it.

The reason they like the Chev badges (apart from being ignorant) is that they are alot smaller than the MASSIVE Holden emblem they stick on them from the factory. Actually saw on the way home tonight: Purple VZ SSV Ute with purple background numberplates [CHEV SS]........

i give my mate at work sooooo much shit for doing this, he's changed the rear garnish between the tail-lights also so now it says 'chevrolet' i call it the 'chavrolet' .... 'chav' being the english version of trailer trash :D

what shits me the most is he's left the 'commodore SS' decals on the rear doors :rolleyes:

well all I know is it just makes me want to tell the owner.....you bought a holden not a chevy so be proud of it rather than looking like Billy Bob & Clevis at Walmart shopping for new fancy duds to wear to the next Nascar event or the even bigger Spring Pig Huntin & Rootin season.

Daewoo is dead and is now owned by GM, in most other markets the cars are actually badged as Chevrolet.

^^ thats like a VN SS I saw with XXX 308 as the plates, when clearly, the fuel injected V8 motor in the VN's is a 304.

My mate has a chev badge on his vy, I must admit, it looks better on the front opposed to the massive holden badge that was there... looks like it fits better too..

Chev badges have been put on Holdens since the early 70's in the days of the HQ...

Back in the 1980s, it was a fairly popular mod to stick a 350 Chev in a Holden. It started from there, as a sort of my donk is bigger than your donk pride thing.

Today's yobbos are simply following what their dads did, not realising that their dads actually had to do more than just replace one stick on piece of plastic with another..

My boss when I did my apprenticeship had a white VN 5lt berlina with the plates PAS 308. Not that that was bad enough, he also had a 4.2lt bravo and decided that as the holden 253 was a 4.2lt that the bravo must have the plates PAS 253. Dumb fuck.

I remember seeing a HQ Statesman back in the late 70's with genuine Chev badges all over it, turned out it was imported back to OZ from Singapore where they were badged as Chev's.

So how many ppl on this forum have a STi sticker on there WRX or Liberty?? non STi owners obv... I dont see the chev badge as a problem, it is a chevvy under there after all, and I agree with others that the badge does look alot better than that massive holden logo they put on them...
