I used a backup from my old 2g phone and restored it to my current 3gs without no mishaps. On iTunes you should select to sync all contacts whenever you connect the iPhone.
That said if you save all contacts to sim card you will find just cleaning the sim with metho that will work fine. I dropped an old nokia off thomsons bay, phone was screwed but sim card was fine

Muggzy i thought that it would automatically save to the sim... it should do that imo.. but as long as the itunes saves it then no dramas, just need a new phone.. hahaha

Are you sure you saved your contacts to the phone? 9 times out of 10 it will have saved to your SIM unless you specified to save to phone.

LOL Macey

But it's true we rely on our phones too much these days! so nobody
remembers about writing shit down as a back up.

Your phone dies, just back it up from iTunes on your pc but if your
pc dies your farked!!!!
