There was a car in the pavilion a couple of years back that used the mirror tiles to show off the underside... they had a few of them stratigicly placed to draw attention to the juicey bits, worked very well. I saw mirror tiles ftw.

Yeah there were a few muscle cars with chromed underbits that used the mirror tile effect last time I was at MV (many moons ago!) and they look great. Definitely a must tino.

personally I would do the following:
See MMS/RMS/RT or your prefered rally workshop and see if they have anything rally looking for the corner posts of your display. The car has the hardware to back it up, even hit subaru up for some 'promotional tape' if they have it or even the flag type things they use with Subaru on it. The safety tape is good as it weighs nothing and is easy to use, but plastic chain will be sturdy. Mirror tiles can be bought fom IKEA for a few $$, I think they come in packets of 4. Not thick stuff, but will be OK for the weekend and future 'strategic' bathroom photos for the added dimension The ramp idea is great, I would Ramp the front and use stands at the rear. Take some thick wood to prop them up as you do not want them to sink and damage the car this close to the finish line. Alterantively, see if you can speak to the above rally workshops and see if they have anything else suitable. An idea I saw a few years back were perspex panels on stands which bolted up to the wheel studs. I am not sure where you coud get these from (perhaps ask Tech9 tyres). they will hold your car off the ground and also show off the engineering behind them. You could also employ a couple of hotties for the weekend and supply them with 'SECURITY' hat and t-shirt to gaurd the car. I am sure the p-wrx crew would not mind too much either. On a side note. Try and keep the boot in a shady spot or closed as the heat may play funny buggers with your fuel and oil tanks as per WRXRW a few years back.

police line tape would be better, and a security guard dressed like this:
on second thoughts, biohazard or quarantine tape would be better, still need a fit guard though Last edited by Strubaru; 09-01-2010 at 01:54 AM. |
