Green vs Mundine..oh yeah
Well lets see if Mundine really wants to fight Green now.
Green demands Mundine rematch JONATHAN COOK, The West Australian February 11, 2010, 10:03 am AP / MARK BAKER © UPDATE: Cruiserweight champion Danny Green has reignited his rivalry with nemesis Anthony Mundine, calling for an April 25 showdown between the pair and offering to donate a percentage of profits to disadvantaged indigenous Australians. After months of apparent indifference towards Mundine, who is a proud Aboriginal role model, Green took a different position today, outlining a potential date, venue and an even split of a multi-million dollar purse to make the fight happen. Green suggested the fighters should each accept 45 per cent of earnings with the remaining 10 per cent to go to into a fund to benefit young indigenous Australians. "This is what I think will smoke him out of the hole he's been hiding in since he called me out of retirement," Green said today. "It's an investment in our future and an investment in the indigenous youth of this country. And to give other young kids a chance to aspire and achieve the dreams they've longed for, especially in the remote areas where the kids don't get the access to the type of facilities they need to improve and get ahead in life. "I don't see how he can possibly turn this offer down and if he does I suggest he check his passport and leave the country because he'd have to hang his head in shame." Mundine scored a unanimous points victory over a drained Green at the super-middleweight limit of 76.2kg in 2006 and a rematch could generate as much as $10 million. "Anthony Mundine has no obligation anywhere else in the world to fight anyone. So there's no reason why he has to turn this down," Green said. "They are looking at a date around late April. We're looking at a date around mid-April. It's perfect. Anzac Day would be a great day. It would be a massive day." Green said he would put his International Boxing Organisation cruiserweight (90.7kg limit) title on the line and he was prepared to fight in Sydney, even though a rematch clause stipulated Perth would be host city. Green, who was flanked by indigenous footballers Des Headland and David Wirrpanda at today's announcement at Girrawheen Senior High School, said discussions had not taken place with Mundine's camp. But the Perth fighter expected a swift response regarding the proposal. Green weighed in at 81.3kg for his December 2 first-round knockout of Roy Jones Jr in Sydney, while Mundine was 72.1kg for his stoush with Rob Medley last month. "Don't let anyone fool you that there's a difference in weight, or a massive difference in weight," Green said. "And don't forget that he's already said in the press that he'll whip me at heavyweight. Now I won't be anywhere near heavyweight so if he's going whip me at heavyweight he'll have no problem doing me at cruiserweight." Wirrpanda was delighted with the concept of funds being directed towards indigenous youth. "Everyone knows what needs to be addressed but one of the hardest things is to have financial benefit that could address those issues," he said. Headland, who attended Green's win over Jones, said it would be a great fight. "I'm a boxing fan and I think when you get two of the greatest champions in the ring, especially Australian champions, it's always great to watch," he said.

RJJ is 41 & way past his prime. It's a bit like the press going crazy when Holyfield, Lennox Lewis etc all beat Tyson. They beat Tyson when he was past his best, fat and slow. 10 years earlier they wouldn't have lasted 2 rounds. I think Green & Mundine are reasonably well matched, Mundine is definitely quicker and a more skillful boxer, but who knows what will happen on the night.
