I'm looking at concrete also. Had a quote for $30k for a 7.8 x 3.6 which was marginally more than a f/glass pool. There are lots of companies around, I'm still shopping around at the moment. We had a f/g pool at our current house (moving soon) and had lots of dramas with the pool company. They rocked up with the wrong colour pool and it just got worse lol.

Disregard any base price you see advertised, it usually includes very little in the initial price. E.g our pool was 17'990, advertised, but ended up being $30k. Obviously the smaller the cheaper, you should be able to get something for $20k. And if u can get solar heating.

Currently getting a few quotes. So far 24k for a 7 x 4 seems to be the go..

hmmm..

what is better in the long run fibreglass or concrete?

I was looking @ Clark Rubber's above ground pool setups on tuesday and the largest one they do is like 11k fitted.

A spa however can be considered a worthy investment. Plus Tim takes photos of pretty girls, could think of worse back drops for scantily clad or nekkid women folk
