I've an uncle Trevor, he worked for 40 years for the Education Department and never drove anything more inspiring than a 4 cylinder.

My late Father's name was Trevor, school techer, he drove a Kombi.

My mate, Trevor, Architecht, Prado.

My Neighbour, Trevor, business proprietor, Landcruiser.

Maybe I'm thinking too much about it, but I'd wager that the average age for someone called Trevor would have to be 50+ years. It hasn't been a popular name for years. Like Arthur or Gordon.

Hey nothing wrong with Forrestfield,That's my hood.

Ok, does anyone actually first hand know a Trev that fits the stereotype?

Yes, no bullshit.
You're right in one part but, he's heaps older than i am.
When i last saw him he had a black XD falcon, smoked up his brothers VS-SS on a frequent basis, and had a dirt bike that he kept in his laundry. Which had burnout marks in it...

No lie.

I never really understood how the name Trev fitted the sterro type. Over in Qld they call them Bevan's and I don't think I've met a Bevan that fits it either. Wouldn't Shane or Kevin or Mick or Gazza or Barry be better?

I don't know where 'Trev' & 'Shazza' came from. But it's a saying (if you can call it that) that I learn't from Perth WRX.
For those who know me, I came from the sterotypical bogan atmosphere before I moved to perth & I did know a Trev & he was a bit of a bogan but that was it.

I think it's just a name given to Aussie Bogans who all drive old muscle cars. Same as all the guys who drive nissans are called Van Ngeung and all the guys who drive WRX's are called habib.

I saw a few of these cars last night on my way back from a visit to mandurah. I passed am S series valiant, a Dodge Charger and an amazing 1970 Boss Mustang Fastback.

There's just something so cool about old school muscle cars, and to be fair the effort and expense getting them looking and running so well 40 years after birth has to be appreciated.

There was an Australian comedy (comedy company I think) back in the late 80's early 90's there was a weekly skit where two young bogans were at the drive in's sitting in their car, she was called Shazza but I can't remember if he was Trev or not, maybe someone can YouTube it but that is where the Shazza name came from for bogan girls
