In fact the affair was first suggested on an opposition (read Labor) forum where details of "intimate" sms's exchanged between Buswell and Carles whilst they were sitting in Parliament were exposed. So the writing was on the wall before it got to the Greens.
Had it been an affair only, Buswell may have kept his job, but use of taxpayer funds to support it is a big no no...the amount is irrelevant...the principle is the important thing and given that he had been in trouble at least twice before for spurious expense claims it was obvious he would get the boot. And that doesn't even take into account the chair and bra issues....
