Ford Focus RS coming to Australia

Not sure if anyone has posted it as yet (couldn't see it), but this will shake up the hot hatch market a bit:

Same here. Anyone wanna lend me $60k?

Yeah i heard about this today also, didn't think Ford was going to bring these to OZ, comparably priced to what i'm paying for the Golf R and will be arriving around the same time as mine as well.

Looks tough and i'm sure goes like stink...hopefully i won't regret my decision when i see one of these on the road.

Still front wheel drive only though. FAIL.

I love the RS, but can't believe they havent made it AWD. :(

The build quality won't compare with the golf. The RS is the ultimate boy racer with limited edition appeal. Will go hard too (and looks PORN to boot), but the golf would most likely be easier to live with.

When's the comparo Karl?

Looks good but whats power without the right drivetrain FWD failz...

^^ +1 Add to the fact that version one of most new cars is usually buggy as hell, I think you made the right decision. Would be interesting to see service costs and replacement component prices on this thing.

Can anyone say 60k is a bit rich for something that may have some very interesting handling characteristics (224kw FWD)? Will be hanging to see reviews and testing of this.

Cant remember the spec's but may be similar to the Vauxhall Astra segment Jeremy Clarkson did on Top Gear a while back where the overpowered FWD just couldn't turn, and yes I know this car is kitted out a lot better then the Astra would have been.

It has been available in the UK since last year. Already been tested by Clarkson and he says it is one of the best hot hatches ever built.

Seems 224kw through the front wheels with the tricky diff it has isn't a problem. No where near is torque steery as the previous RS.

I want!

It's the ultimate in boy racer styling though....good luck driving anywhere without getting tailgated / dragged by p platers in commonwhores. =(
