Default VW Polo GTi, anyone driven/looked at one?

Hey guys,

Thinking of downscaling after the XR6T is sold as I want to put my $$$ towards a house. I'm considering a low km'd VW Polo GTi.

Just wondering if anyone has driven one or knows anything about them. Found this one: http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...cs=3&silo=1011 - which looks pretty good.

Anyone know the 0-100 etc on these?

Cheers,
Josh

Check servicing costs, general maintenance costs, and have a gander at replacement part costs mate, I remember them being extra special when I worked for the former John Hughes Panel & Paint.

Cant remember if this particular model has the gas strut bumper re-inforcement setup, which tend to seize up at the most unappropriate times.

Having said that, I to am a fan of the design and comfort of them.

Go and drive one before you pass judgement Josh.
The Polo is a damn small car but those germans fit a lot of good shit into such a small package.

P.S Servicing Costs are $290 from OPVW or $120 from your local mechanic.

My sis has one and they're an awesome well balnced car to drive...especially considering they're fwd! They have great acceleration, seeing as they're a 1.8 in a fairly small and light package.

I like and would definitely have one...not over the sti though!

I agree with Phizzle, stretch the budget a few extra grand and get a Golf GTI, they are slightly bigger and look better imo plus you will knock off over a second for that 0-100 time.

My other option before i bought the Colt was the Polo GTi. For purely financial reasons, i bought the Colt.

The Polo is probably the better car.
