It's usually easier to buy a new external and retire the old one for backups. If they're both the same internal connection (e.g. sata) you can use the stronger case for the bigger drive.

harveys have 1tb portable ones for 200 but they will take 190, dont bother with the desktop/power source required as they are a pain in the ass to carry and I also had one stuff up, all the screws came out and shorted the thing, goodbye all documents ect..

^^ going by those prices there's a reason these are out of stock

I have one and have to say very impressed with its capacity and size/weight.

Alternately go all out 'external caddy case can be used in raid 0 as well', don't really see a need for this now as there are cheaper more portable options available.

Also Latenitez, dependant on quantity of data turnover and file type sort after, would probably be best to hit up a LAN and get your Strong DC++ On

$75 for a 1TB drive is the best price I've seen in a while: http://www.netplus.com.au/product/HD4/HDHI72RSATA1000G/Hard-Drive/Hitachi-1Tb-1000Gb-SATA2-16Mb-7200RPM-Deskstar-7K1000-Japan-brand-Hard-Drive-HDD

I've filled drives with media for a couple of folks on here before, got a few TB of stuff that's been collected over the years. Been slowly replacing my collection of films & TV shows with HD versions... Band of Brothers in 1080p is something like 90GB hahaha

If anyone has 720p/1080p TV shows, Bluray rips etc. hook a brother up!

I've found these guys to be pretty good. Got a new mouse, SSD and mousemat 2 weeks ago from them, put the order in on monday, recieved the stock on tuesday.... shipping was $22 including insurance... ended up saving myself about $100 because of the price of SSD's over here. Thought it was pretty reasonable considering they're in melbourne.

Personally, I wouldnt touch Samsung drives. Go either WD or Seagate where possible. Both myself and a work colleague have had 2.5" Samsung drives die in under 2 years. My laptop wasnt exactly getting alot of use either.
