The 997 is a nice improvement over the 996 in my opinion, based on looks that is.

My ultimate 911 is still the 996 GT2 though (maybe until the 997 GT2 arrives), shit that thing pushes you back in your seat like nothing else....all the way to an indicated 330kmh!!

Ive gotta agree with you there the GT2 is an awesome car. its more race bread so they dont worry so much about all the 'ergonomic' parts. RWD too unlike the turbo which would make it nice n fun in the wet, or dry for that matter. wasnt a fan of the old school lights but there growin on me.

Turbo runs 95% rear, 5% front. When slip is detected it will provide 'up to' 40% drive to the fronts. RWD fun with awd safety......similar in concept to the GTR system. Only thing it can't do burnouts but swings great nuts

This one gets 480 hp and the same weight. Stays at 3.6 litres. Also gets the super sexy variable geometry compressor wheel thingy's on the turbo's. Also gets rid of the viscous centre diff and gets a much faster more electronic one. They have managed to get the weight distribution down to 40:60 aswell.

The 996 turbo far outstripped porsches prediction and represented 15% of all 911 production.
