i am importing a few bits and pieces for my project car from thailand to freo ports the company has said that its leaving thailand sunday.
parts i am importing :-
SR20 to BMW E30 engine mounts, gear box mounts, prop shaft, skyline diff modified to suit and drive shafts to suit. the saga begins

now what i dont know

what is the process for picking these items up?
how will i know when my shipment has arrived? will someone call me?

i will be given a consignment note of some sort with a number on it, but has any one done this before that can give a newbie some guidance?

If the products and shipping total to more than 1k AUD you will be up for customs duty and gst on top of it.
It most cases you can clear the goods yourself refer to www.customs.gov.au
If youre doing this for the first time, its best to get an accredited customs broker to clear the goods for you ie. BAX global/Schenker is the one i used before.

Also you will be advised when the packages get here regardless if its delivered to your door or its on hold at Freo port.

you will also get stung with broker fees etc etc.. if getting stuff in its almost chepaer to get it sent direct to door ive found, unless the item is huge...

tracking number is comming to me emailing it shortly, i knew about customs and GST fees.

who and how will they contact me when its arrived?

challenge of doing business in another country, the english barrier has been a fiasco.

The broker will contact you..

They will charge fees for doing this for you in addition to GST fees, import taxes and custom fees..
