definitely stay in at a hotel in the middle of the vegas strip, like New York New York, though in saying that it doesnt really matter as you walk up and down the strip drunk enjoying all the sites anyways. middle of the strip is always good as its where all the action is. enjoy as its a blast.
cant help you with places around europe sorry as i stayed with family which made things easier |

Tino, while ur away over that side of the world. Might aswell to go Amsterdam, and see a live sex show. I've heard they are pretty good. There's heaps to do over there.. Don't go to Ibiza tho. Very expensive. Some clubs charge $150 just to enter. It's good.. but not that good have fun

I was in Vegas in December Tino and it was mint! Stayed at the 'Paris' which was fantastic! I would highly reccomend it. From walking around Bellagio and The Wynn looked like places I would stay at.
As for stuff to see, make sure you see the Grand Canyon preferably by helicopter so you can touch down and go for a walk. This was really cool suprisingly.. Also be sure to see the 4 level M&M's shop along with the Coca Cola shop. Last but not least, go see as many casinos are you can, go to a cirque du soleil and get down to coyote ugly at New York New York!! Hope that helps mate! You'll have a blast |

Circus-Circus, cheapest "up class" hotel on the strip
Google it. Try to stay in vegas in the middle of week as accommodation (and everything else) is cheapest Suggest watching at least one of the Circus De-soleil there There are also free shows at the various casinos And, be prepared to be bombarded with lots of business cards advertising the girly bars and escorts by the local mexicans - can get very annoying Free beers when you're playing at the casino |

I have been to vegas twice. Stayed at MGM and this other dodgy joint next door (on a contiki trip). Only place in the world where I have been encouraged to stand on a bar with a guy next to me with a whistle and two funnels full of beer and you have skulling comps with people. The casinos are awesome. I am not a huge gambler but still love the place. Once you get inside there are no clocks and no exit signs. The logic is that you go in and leave when you have nothing left. The food is awesome and cheap as because the logic is that you go for the food and while you are there you might aswell have a flutter. The best thing outside a casino in vegas is the stratosphere tower. It is about $20US for an all day pass and looks like a airport control tower. It has four or five rides up the top and you look all the way down the strip. One dude on one of the rides was about 25 and was balling his eyes out....and the smell emanating from his area of the cart suggested he had shat himself.....Very funny. Make sure you do it at night. As for europe and amsterdam they are not sex shows....They are horizontal caberet and are worth every cent. awesome. Not enough room to go on about europe but you will very quickly get an idea of how it works if you do the world cup first. As corny as it sounds go and buy a couple of lonely planet books. You dont have to go to the restaurants etc but it tells you about the main sites. |

another good one at the end of the strip is strastophere. A point to note is most if not all of the hotels on the strip are way better than any you would generally find. Strastophere also has a great observation tower that gives you a good view of vegas, and theres a rollercoaster and stuff on top.
Theres a cheap bus/tram that stops at all the hotels up and down the strip, great way to get around if your tired of walking, and trust me you will eventually. If you go all the way to vegas, you might as well drive over too hoover dam, about 45-50 min drive if your renting, and have the cash, you can take a 1 hr flight over hoover and the grand canyon, absolutely awesome views and well worth the money. As pmh said lots of free shows, definitely visit the venetian (sp?) and the bellagio waterfalls. Vegas is a once in a life time thing... gotta do it. |
