Hoon Law question?
My mate has a FG F6 and was leaving his sister in laws with his two kids in their car seats. I don't exactly know how it's happened but the way he explained it he lost traction after he turned around to attend his 1 year old son. He has traction control off fulltime. But he must of tapped the accelerator as he turned around and by the time he changed into 2nd gear (left two very light strips about 1m long) a off duty police officer came running out and took his rego. As my mate come back 30 minutes later he decided to knock on this guys house to appoligise and explain what happened to where the bloke has told him something along the lines "I know where you live". He then said they'd be paying him a visit early this week. Now I know my mate wouldn't do anything stupid on the roads, let alone with his 1 and 3 year olds in the back. What do you think could happen to him? And yes, I told him to put traction control on for street driving. He races it at Wanneroo but the FG F6 has quite a bit of power. Any help would be appriciated or any advice?

Well I suppose with the lack of attention your mate showed it was lucky it was a cop with the notepad not a 3 year old on a bike in front of him.

Agree 100%... seriously that’s a lame excuse.. you can't lay down rubber by accidentally pressing the accelerator... AND you can't with TC on.. Sorry dude, that’s just stupid with your kids in the car. Don't mean to be offensive.. its like saying you sneezed and pulled up the handbreak when you were doing a U-Turn. |

Yeah FG F6 premium brakes are worth the extra.

I must agree with axle on this. As the ads on TV say, distracted drivers kill.
To me, it sounds as if your mate is trying to cover his arse. I am guessing he dropped a skid as he left and got a call saying a cop lived in the street and got his rego and thats why he returned. Either way, having kids he should be more attentive behind the wheel. |

Yeah Corrie I'm definently thinking the same thing. It's just strange that it was as he left his sisters house. Put it this way, if he did a skid with his two kids in the back I have no sympathy for him whatever the Police do because if someone did a skid in his street where his kids would be playing he'd go nuts.

as if anyone who has half a brain is going to do a skid with two kids in the back of their car, especially with 1 being 1 year old

I've seen people do far worse with young kids in the back, so a little skid isn't supprising.
