fatboy 14-04-2011 10:39 AM
as in Moly Mines?

Was thinking of buying some. They have just had the $500 million loan, they've been waiting on for 2years+. Just wondering what the forecast is for their share price. I think 2 years before they become operational. So would that mean they would stagnate until then, or gradually go up. And is there any way of speculating as to what they could be worth when they do go operational. Looking to buy 50ks worth.

fatboy 14-04-2011 12:06 PM

YES buy $50k worth based on what i tell you over the interwebz..........

I would buy $5-10k as part of a balanced portfolio but $50k i am not so sure!

FFOUR 14-04-2011 12:09 PM

LOL, no shit. If you really had $50K to invest I think you might research it in areas other than a wrx forum which has mainly 18-25 year olds on it..

Damo69 14-04-2011 12:09 PM

mate no doubt becomming operational has been factored into the share price.

50k really? get a balanced portfolio mate

BHP, WPL, CBA etc etc etc

Cheers yeah I've got BHP, RIO and a few others. So not putting all my eggs in one basket. I've had my eye on MOL for about 2 years.

Yup that was exactly what I was going to do

It's always interesting to get an opinion, doesn't matter what the source. There are plenty of retards shelling out spurious information on share forums.

mARC 14-04-2011 12:46 PM

Curious, what sort of trend analysis did you do?

perthzed 14-04-2011 01:02 PM
Curious, what sort of trend analysis did you do?
Well the GFC has pretty much f**ked up any kind of trend analysis hasn't it? Basically I've been waiting for them to get their loan before thinking about investing. It's taken them 3 years+ to get the funding. It's high risk, but high returns and if I lost the $50k it wouldn't be the end of the world.

XT43 14-04-2011 01:03 PM

I might put 10ks worth on my credit card.

Is this a good idea?

Do you get points when you do this as I need another 65 points and I can get a toaster or some bath towels from Myer.

ACE 14-04-2011 01:20 PM

Its speculative, but if you have been following MOL for 2 years as you say, I doubt anyone on this particular forum could give you any further information than what you have already compiled.

I play around with speccies and 'penny dreadfuls' all the time, but put the majority of profits into a balanced bluechip portfolio.

In the last year have made a killing on SSN (bought at 3 cents, sold at 21c), have taken hits on CXY and MMZ and did really well buying a pile of FMG shares at $1.38 at the height of the GFC when every 'expert' was telling people not to invest in the sharemarket. FMG are up above $6.50 now :)

Cheers. Yeah I know a few peeps in here invest, thought maybe someone knew a bit about MOL. Got a mate who made some big $ on SSN too.

BALISTC 14-04-2011 01:41 PM

According to market sentiment, $50k should buy you a dozen or so WRX's from the For Sale section on this forum.
According to market sentiment, $50k should buy you a dozen or so WRX's from the For Sale section on this forum.
1) Buy a dozen or so wrx's at market value.
2) On-sell at what you want it to be worth.
3)...
4) Profit?

Yes/No/Maybe there are always going to fluctuations in the market whether they be (but not limited to):

Scarcity or resources;
New Technology; or
Consumer Confidence.
Some just make bigger footprints then others.

Do you have an investment strategy, long/short term goal, diversification strategy? As that sounds a little like gambling to me.

Only buys shares with money you can afford to lose!

No matter what company, and what forecast, and whatever dodgy trend someone has come up with, they can still go to shit.

As I I've said, I'm not after advice as to whether or not to buy shares, I was asking if anyone had invested in MOL shares and what their thoughts are about them. If I haven't been clear enough for you, let me know and I'll maybe try and draw a picture or something.

FFOUR 15-04-2011 09:09 AM

Could you draw a picture on the $50K worth of $100 notes you must have lying around the house? :D

Not at all, for all you know I could have $1M to invest. However I wouldn't go around bragging about it on a public forum....and losing $50K would still bother me.

No I know full well you don't have any money to invest.

Asking if anyone has MOl shares and stating I have $50'000 to invest isn't bragging. Or wasn't meant to be anyway.

isnt playing the stock market gambling??

what ever way you put it, I call it strategic gambling at best LOL
and its not the amount you have to invest, its how lucky you are isnt it? I mean, those who made millions or even billions were simply lucky, no matter what they say or how smart they appear or think they are. Gotta be in the right place at the right time....

Yeah I guess for me it's definitely akin to gambling. But there are guys out there who know what they're doing and minimise the risk. Still no expert can ever predict events like 9/11, so even for them it's still a gamble.
