Pulling the weeds is the best option for your lawn, the lawn will respond better to being weed free and wont have to recover from being poisoned, the sooner your lawn is healthy the sooner you have less weeds, get yourself a ripper weeder to make the job less of a pain in the back.

if its too much work look at getting a gardener to do it for you, a pro will rip it out very quickly, this would be cheaper than throwing all sorts of poisons at it then you will just need to stay on top of it as new weeds appear.

IMO Water Corp should give rebates to homeowners who make their yards and gardens water wise. The dams are down to almost nothing and water lawns is just a waste of our precious commodity.

If you go to a chemical/ag/fert supplier like Mirco brothers or if you got a mate that works on or around a council or golf course get him to get you some Kamba M. This is a selective herbicide that kills flat weeds (dandelion). Spray your lawn at the recommended rate. You can buy it in 1L squeeze bottles so you don't have to touch it (it stinks).

You will more than likely have to do it a couple of times to kill it all.

It will yellow your lawn but thats life......don't leave it too long now cos it will take ages to green up. You should be able to feed it about 2 weeks later.

If you can't get hold of kamba M go to bunnings a look for anything that has Di camba as the active constituant. This will be basically the same product just different name.

Hope this helps.
