Default Knock Off Rims

Has anyone had any experience with "knock off" Rims?

And no, I'm not talking about cheap Chinese knock offs, I mean the old style wire spoke rim used on some pre 1960's cars and pimpin lowriders - the ones where you have the knock off centre piece and the bolt adapters.

For example:

I'm helping a friend of mine source some Dayton wire wheels (or similar) for his VQ statesman, but I'm curious to know if anyone knows of any ill effects or down sides of this style of rim?
(and the car is just a cruiser - no track work at all...)

I am of course assuming knock offs can even be fitted to a VQ....

Local suppliers seem to be scarce so I'd appreciate any info or experiences, or perhaps any links to local suppliers/information.

Thanks

i have only ever touched them on mgb's and have never had any problems with them. Not sure about on a stato though. Will look sick on a vq though

I had a set on my rodeo for a while and know a few other people that have ran them all with no problems, They should go fine on a vq aswell

Hmmm, I did actually have a good look on their website before posting here, but I couldn't see any listed. I don't know how current their website is.
