HOONS! - I just caught one… by accident!

He would have been nabbed soon anyway but it was freaky chance the way this guy actually got caught. I'll give you guys the short version, rather than my much longer 'pub version' (in my pub version the suspect is wielding a shotgun and I have to rescue an infant child from a burning church in the process. Oh and I was shot. ...Hey it makes it more interesting).
.
A few weeks ago on my way home from work I had a Nissan Pintara GLi pull out in front of me from a side street. Not dangerously, like cutting me off or anything, but the suspect's vehicle left a cloud of white smoke behind it. I actually didn't think anything of it - it was an old car pulling out on to a hill so I thought it was probably oil or something.
.
That theory flew out the window at the next corner… and the one after that. The suspect would pull up to stop signs and intersections, rev it up and skid away as far as he could, tail out if it went that way, during peak hour in a built-up area.
.
After doing this a couple of times, I got the iPhone out and hit record.
.
We pulled up at the next intersection and he looked in his rear-view, saw me, flipped me da bird, then did his amazingly impressive 'drop the clutch and floor it' trick. All while being recorded.
I lost sight of him after that so went home and chucked the footage on my computer.*
.
Last night I finally got around to filling in a police report online. I stated that I had video evidence I could provide, along with a detailed description of events, the vehicle and its number plate. I hit submit and wait for justice to be served.
.
Didn't take long. Less than 18 hours in fact.
.
I got a call today from the local police saying they went to the described intersection to check for skid marks. As they were there, the suspect drove right past! How they remembered my description of the car I don't know - they'd have a lot of things to remember in their line of work. But in any case they did remember, and so they threw on their lights and pulled him up.
All the details I had provided checked out in terms of the car, plate and driver, and so when they told him they had video evidence of him being a pingpingpingping, he fessed it all up straight away.
.
Result? Hoon's car impounded for a month.
.
I'm waiting by my door for Today Tonight to come and do a story on how a "hoon member of underground hoon car club rats on own hoonish friend doing hoon stuff." Yeah coz we're all the same. I hope this helps the police realise that not all performance car owners are hoons, particularly those at the world-famous P-diddy!
.
I also gave my driver's licence number in the police report, which was optional. Here's hoping my actions will go on record and that the next time I'm pulled up by the police (perhaps for a 'random' breath test), they are nice to me :)
.
So yeah, what a coinkidink that the cops were there right as he drove past.
.
* On the way home I saved that baby from the burning church. Twice. It crawled back in and I had to get it again. Little shit.

Very nice work :D, always a good feeling with an end result like that. Time & place; there's no need to be a douche on the road! People like that need to go & get it out of them on an owned private estate/land/farm or at the track. Absolutely no need to be a complete knob on the road.

Mike Brady: Cindy, you know by tattling on your friends, you're really just tattling on yourself. By tattling on your friends, you're just telling them that you're a tattletale. Now is that the tale you want to tell?
the cops did ask why you were holding your phone recoding while driving??
I never had to summit the footage and the report never said it came from a camera I was holding, just that I could provide video evidence… since he confessed to doing the skids, it wasn't needed anyway. Besides, I stopped behind him at the stop sign, filmed the offence, and then stopped the video again before I pulled away from the stop sign. So me filming in a stationary position < multiple skids.

I'm not putting the footage up. It doesn't do anyone any good, and the guy's got what's coming to him. It's also just something more the media will probably find on YouTubes and wring this shite out of, even if it is genuine.

Terry.Wrist 13-05-2011 12:06 PM

Only took 18 hours........interesting.

What a knob, with people around in peak hour traffic

Car to explain the difference then, numpty?

REXXXED 15-05-2011 02:48 AM

I assume he means accelerating a quickly to the speed limit then driving the speed limit? In which case i see no issue ?????

Ps: boobs.....

PROTOTYPE 15-05-2011 04:38 PM
No...there's no difference.
How to reply like a douche 101..... How do you figure that there is no difference??

So an idiot in a POS car that doesn't have the ability to handle well or stop easily when required driving around in traffic lighting tyres at every intersection; is the same as the usual shit that most (not all) respectable performance car drivers get, when they give there car a squirt from the lights, or come around a corner at speed without losing any traction....???

I would seriously beg to differ, IMHO Hoon's are broadcast in the media as pretty much anyone who either owns a performance car, drives like they own a performance car, drives their performance car like its a performance car, breaks traction at any time, turns a corner with more than 0.1G's of lateral force being used, brakes hard, turns in at the right time not so early or late you nearly hit the car in the opposite lane, doing skids, speeding, attempting to break the land speed record etc etc etc the list goes on...

Problem is that to me Hoon's are not the majority of people who own and drive performance cars and drive them spiritedly within the restrictions of the speed limits etc, going around a corner and actually feeling the weight shift and your suspension working isn't being a hoon, its driving your car. Accelerating from a set of lights without breaking traction at a decent pace to the speed limit or so, is just driving your car...

Both the Police and the Media are way too precious about this Hoon shit and should be looking out for the five imbosiles a week I see driving through red lights, or doing 90 in a 50 zone during peak time, etc etc...

Rant could go on for years.... just don't be such a naive c**t next time you post your blabber on a forum full of car enthusiasts that actually try to avoid the cops and media branding them as a bunch of Hoons........

So anyways, how is that baby you rescued Callum? any word on whether you're the father? lol!

P.S: good work on the bust, glad to see the cops responded so promptly and removed said retard from our roads for a while to think about how retarded he is! :)

GTB Liberty 15-05-2011 04:41 PM

Well said.

teejay 15-05-2011 04:59 PM

To be honest Id rather a hoon do a skid in a vn v6 then some wannabe Loeb think they can arrive into a corner at 140 in their WRX and make the corner without buttfucking a tree.

BALISTC 15-05-2011 05:15 PM

What Rob said.

problem, subasurf-fag?
