I have some open ended SteelSeries headphones.. the wife hates them cos she can hear sound from them. I ordered the AD's and hopefully they will be here this week (i paid extra for express postage)..

Hmmm, I would have thought that something which creates music has to sound perfect. Spec sheets mean nothing. Your ears do.
No offence but if you're using your headphones for 6-10 hours per day, you would DEFINITELY want to audition some before spending the dosh. Headphonics in Leederville (headphones.com.au) have a range of quality headphones to audition.
Also, I'd have thought you could justify a little over the $190 bracket for something that you'll wear for at least 62 full days per year (minimum 6 hours a day X 5 days a week X 50 weeks a year – I'm giving you two weeks of non-listening here ). And that's all on the slightly conservative side, according to what you've said.

Having said all that though, I've not heard those particular Audia Technicas (who make great 'phones in any price range) but from reports they're certainly not bad for the money.

Going to 2 nationals is about as Professional as you can get in Australia CHEERS.

I too would recommend the G930 for gaming and surround sound cinema. Not the best out there for audio though (If you plan on using on any decks)
