I need to get a home security system for my new place. Anyone here work in that industry or have opinions/advice for and against the different companies and equipment out there?

We are not looking for the ducks nuts, just some peace of mind. Looking at internal movement/IR detectors and door detection. Will be having 24 hour monitoring too.
