Summer 2011/12 Cricket Thread
So Kiwi's 6/60 on a very green pitch! Won't last very long after lunch but we'll be batting on the same pitch after lunch which will be worse when the light fades. I am predicting close to 20 wickets today.
Tip of the summer is Hughes won't face a ball against the Indians. Pattinson and Starc will also find out how hard it is to bowl against 'proper' batsmen. Khawaja will assert himself as a number 3 for the future and lets hope Marsh does the same when he returns. Punter to potentially announce his retirement at the end of the series.

I don't think Punter will make it to the end of the season even. If he doesn't consistently make runs from here to the end of the season I can see him keeping his spot.
Clarke looks in good form recently I think he will be Australia's batsmen of the summer. Australia need to establish a pace attack and let the work together for a few games. Constantly chopping and changing is not going to help. Who the hell do we have for a spinner, Beer?

You could be right, I hope not. But yes if Punter doesn't score runs the pressure will certainly be on him. I just don't want what happened to Steve Waugh to happen to Punter.
They will stick with Lyon unless he is injured this summer.

I want to see Marsh actually get over this back injury and play some cricket! He's a superstar and should be opening instead of the muppet pair of Warner / Hughes

I think Warner has the potential to be a test batsmen. The ball he copped in the first innings was a fucking ripper that would have dismissed most top 6 batsmen. The last 5 would have had their adam's apple obliterated by it.
Lyon is actually a very good bowler. Fantastic flight, and we've seen him get more movement than any of our previous offies.
