Default GPS's

Hey guys,

Im looking at getting a GPS for my car.

Anyone got one or know about them?

The one Im looking at is this one - are they any good?

I can get it for just under $600

Thanks in advance

$600 is about the going rate for an entry level Tomtom or Garmin so you're in the ball park.

Personally, since i own a smartphone (Nokia 6260 with Symbian OS), I went for the separate bluetooth GPS receiver (BT77 - $91 off eBay), added a 1gig RS-MMC card ($80 - eBay) and used the Symbian version of Tomtom mobile5 software ($0 - PM for details) and it works great!

2nd vote for tomtom on the phone. I've been using it for years now (started on my Ipaq) and think it's superb. I have most of the world on map too

I have a Garmin GPSMAP296 for the plane, it is an awesome unit which you can use for aviation, marine and cars
My old man has a Phillips Carin which is an awesome unit
and I just bought a VDO Dayton MS5400 which is pretty much the Phillips unit.
I was going to get a Navman for $900 but I wanted a bigger screen to fill the area I have.
I will let you know how the VDO is once I fit it, and thats even if I get it as I bought it off ebay and the user is no longer registered

If you take a GPS on a commercial aircraft and operate it in-flight, i assume it will work correctly, but will i get in ths shit from the hosties?

Don't you trust the pilot to find the right way home?
