iPhone stream to laptop help
Hey all,
Does anyone know if it is possible to stream the iPhone screen to the laptop? as in make it use the whole screen (horizontal)? I ask as I am stuck away for work, BHP are tight arses and haven't put a TV in my room and I want to watch AFL replays on my laptop via the Telstra AFL plan.. as opposed to my iPhone.. I'm not very techy when it comes to this stuff, and it may be a shit resolution and not worth me doing it but any advice appreciated.. Cheers |
I think you mean tether.
If you use your IPhone as the Internet source you should be able to watch the afl on your laptop. |
Hrmm, I will have another play around tonight, but I didn't think that it would be real easy as otherwise people who want AFL could simply stream it off their phone rather than pay for foxtel..
Cheers guys will let you know if I find a solution and will try the teathering.. |
A further solution may be Optus' "record TV" called TV now.

I don't think tethering your iphone to laptop allows you to screen share - it just gives you internet access. You need some form of AirPlay or mirroring app.

Does the laptop have any hdmi inputs? If so, you can just output through this:

I don't think the aim is to screen share. I'm thinking that the OP will be able to hide the fact he's watching a game NOT on his phone but on his laptop. The main issue with Telstra game distribution is that the data must go through the Telstra 3G network. It's the same with Optus TV Now - it's free data IF it goes through the Optus 3G network but counts on download quota via any other service. |
Sounds like he wanted to screen share. I understand what you're saying but I think this year you will only be able to watch AFL via free to air TV, Foxtel & Telstra Mobile devices only (don't think you'll be able to stream online through their website). Optus customers have a temporary solution.
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm hoping to AirPlay from my iPhone to TV using AppleTV (same as I do now with NBA.TV). |
Screen share is what I was after.. Does anyone know if that iPod to HDMI output will project anything that is on your screen or only actual movies loaded to your phone??
I was hoping there was some sort of app that I could configure with Bluetooth to my laptop.. I would go with the Optus thing I it let me use it on my laptop, however I'm with Telstra and staying with them... On another note the AFL watching on the mobile isn't very good for replays etc.. And Telstra's AFL tv is just recorded games they choose to play.. Mostly collingwood, however this will be good when the mighty crows pump them this weekend!! Cheers guys |
anything on the screen - I have one sittiing in front of me now
