Head rebuild send it to Gerry at head torque in osbourn park. Any mechanic could do the head gasket.

Yeah, I got a quote for a exchange head for $850 with gaskets.
I'll chase up Gerry and see what they can do to the head while it is off the engine.
Was hoping to find a mechanic with some experience with these things as
I will b looking for some performance work as well, as I will b using the car for autokhana.

It's not hard to change the gasket, especially with the engine out.

Have a good look at the block itself - the last one we ended out having to swap the bottom end out & keep the head as the block had actually corroded in the water jacket to such an extent that the alloy block had peeled back from the liners. I put that down to age and the previous owner using tap water instead of coolant.
