So now I'm in the market for a new one anyone work at a jb hifi or something, or even anyone's input on what sort of tv we should go for, we watch shit loads of movies, not much sport(misses hates football) and hardly any gaming now, any suggestion muchly appreciated.

Everyone has different opinions but I have a 42" LED LCD Bravia and it does everything I want it to above my expectations. Generally play movies via ps3 with hdmi cable and picture is clear as day.

I picked mine up at jb for about 600, I've learnt with that place if you are friendly to the staff member whose helping make your decision and get a few things with it they are normally more than happy to give you discount. Sometimes it's a lot sometimes not so much.
I remember when I got my first car I went and bought alpine r types total rrp 980, what I got it for 550 :-)

contact the manufacturer. Most have a grace period and a fairly flexible warranty period if that particular model is known to be a regular faulty. What brand is it?

Yeah I like the Bravia best tv jb sell For their price. And yeah I'm gonna try grab a new head unit as well whilst I'm there,

Lg is the one we've got at the moment but it's to small in my opinion so we were gonna keep it for the games room.

And cheers tj for the contacts

a TV should last more than 12 months. go back to the seller and tell them you want it repaired. Failing that, get consumer protection involved.

^^this!!
Although they are only warranted for 12 months they are made to last longer and you purchased it as a product to last longer therefore the manufacturer will help you with it!
