WA cops tent to drive shit so they are restricted to crappy v6's

When will the cops get WRX's like they have in singapore? I'd sign up in a flash

i think V6s are a more suitable solution in a pursuit car, engine not too heavy and don't rollover as much as the V8 siblings. chases aren't always in a straight line.

I remember reading something in the cop newsletter (frontline first) which read something along those lines.

Well the v8's ARE coming back in the next 6-9 months due to the 6 not being up with it in chases. The 8 is needed for the catch up after slowing for intersections etc.

Wrx's were also trialled but were found more pricey to fix and the coppers testing were hurting them really bad.

Anyone know if the coppers survived the crash. Pretty bad if they didn't.

semi barely got a dent in it jeez...

if they did survive which i think/hope they have, they were pretty lucky not to plough into anything in front of em. kinda like that rex that got sandwiched between 2 semis in the US.

As for cop cars i know the brits use plenty of undercover rexs, M5's and a few lotus elises here and there for undercover pursuits.

They don't.

In the past it was E36 BMW 320i and Volvo S40s

Given that the cops drive the same manner as the bimmer and volvo, I'd say the police force will be looking at new Pfitner or Hollinger gearboxes.

Lets just say all cops have no mechanical sympathy for govt. cars especially when its not theirs.

Apparently you can't. You have to join the police force and from there they will post you to whichever vocation they think suits you.

There are hundreds of recruits each intake and there are only 11 WRXs available. The odds don't look too good ...

I know because I had the same idea as you.

I wouldn't mind if they paid me $1/hr. It'll be the best part timer ever !
