Ski Map | HAKUBA TOURISM

Did Hakuba this year. 8 ski days I think and we boarded 47, Goryu, Happo-One, Iwatake, Tsugaike and Cortina. Very easy to get to each resort via shuttle bus (we stayed in Happo-One and just picked a different resort each day). My fav was Iwatake and Cortina (had the best ungroomed stuff)

Hakuba Springs Hotel I think we stayed at. Not much night life in Hakuba, but plenty of places to eat at, few bars etc. Slopes are quieter then Niseko, so that is a plus.

Nowsa Onsen is not far from Hakuba. We did 4 ski days there. Loved Nowsa! Great in-bound (sort of) tree runs!

I did hakuba this year.
stayed at these lodges, tho i never boarded at happo...
Big bear Chalets - Morino Lodge | Accommodation In Hakuba Japan | Lodges & Chalets | Skiing & Snowboarding

got the first bus to cortina each morning, as we were told happo has a heap of moguls (plus we were only there 3 days)
it’s a bit out the way, but the owners take you to the shops should you need anything, and its about a 15min walk to the bus in the morning (town shuttle doesn’t start that early)
if you want village, town life... then don’t go to happo... nothing about after dark.
If you ski however, its ment to be really good...

Don’t hit backcounty unless you know what you’re doing. A few guys died last year there and the day before I arrived they just found 3 guys that had been out there for 2 nights because avalanche went off above them and they couldn’t get back up.. something like this anyways... but yeh, pretty sketchy from what the locals were saying.

Bought a couple of tickets for $1600 return. Saw some cheaper deals like you mention but needed to fit into my requested time off. Pretty happy with that though. Hoping 17 nights travel is long enough over there!

We were actually looking at those chalets. They look nice!

Just got flights for $670 return, Air Asia.

It's my first snowboarding trip. Ski'd before but not boarded. So hopefully all goes well. Prob doing most of our time up at 47 and Happo. Any tips and suggestions on where is good to stay?
