Default Buying a track day helmet

Hey guys,

A mate has invited me to a RAC track day in March.
So I need to buy a helmet.
As I will only use it 2 or 3 times a year I do not want to spend too much money on it. Of course it will be AS/NZ1968 approved.
My main question is, should I buy a open or full face helmet ?
There seem to be more keenly priced full face helmets with features like removable lining etc....I know how stinky helmets can be from my mtb days.

Any input appreciated

Dave

For the odd track day I would go open face. Increased visibility and easier to take sunglasses off or put them on.

The helmet place in Vic Park will sell you an open face one meeting all required Australian standards for under 100 dollars.

Remember, this is your brain we are talking about - dont be a tight arse.

Got mine from helmet place, super comfy. Closed face with choice of visors. Got a clear for ROE cruisers and tinted for track days.

Open faces in were 80~ ish from memory

Had the same experience with Ivan, top bloke and will really help to find what you need.
Seeing that you only have one head, get it done right from the get go
