Afternoon All,

I am chasing some advice regarding some renovations i'm making at my house. I have recently been in contact with Western Power, and asked about changing over from overhead cable power to underground. They have told me if I allow them to install the dome on my property they will only charge $681 for the work - which is great.

The kicker is tho, that I would need to employ an electrician to run the underground cable from the new dome, to my meter box. I'm expecting this part to hurt my wallet - a lot!

Has anyone had this done before? and if so how expensive was it?

I'm expecting the cable to be run about 10 metre's (depending on the location that WP choose for the dome), Hopefully it can be run under the grass part of my front yard, all the way to the meter - rather than having to dig up my drive (will attach a picture shortly too).

It can be run any route you like really, just may make it longer is all. Which in turn makes it pricier. Is it a single or three phase house?

I do this shit all the time at work. Can probably get you cable and conduit for a good price and dig the trench yourself and lay it. Then just get a sparky to do the change over.
