If you want anything done with the planning come and see me, I'll survey your lot and house and you can sit down with the engineers and plan out something to your taste, depends really on how your house is built now and the age, aswell as zoning permits etc, do you know if you're actually aloud to build a two storey dwelling within your zoning?

Tino you always like to make things difficult don't you.

You won't be able to do it with the one you're looking at.

But then it will be bespoke and he can join Perth-Renovations.com and create a 500 page thread where the 2nd story gets built once then he decides to rebuild it and completely over engineer the structure and change the front door 4 times

more to it than just the footing size, unless verticore bricks were used in the single story construction it will be a nightmare, most single story of that vintage used horizontally cored brickwork for internal walls rendering them useless as loadbearing elements

light weight stud work = do-able but cheap, house will always be considered as a 'loft conversion',insulating, heating & cooling of said addition will always be costly

I suppose i will look at the structure more closely, but a knockdown would be most suitable id say.
