Well the kitchen is open, so will be straight with a straight breakfast bar.

I want stone benchtop but the rest of it in terms of quality depends on material rather than construction.

sounds like a great DIY project

I'm going to be doing ours galley style using kaboodle from bunnings, have a play with this planner, you can basically draw up the whole kitchen how you want it, then click to get the list of stuff & it even gives you price, awesome

Should get the Mrs to sort out the kitchen, I mean she'll be the one spending most of her time in there.

On a serious note, depends if you want to DIY or not, could always pick out options from bunnings/masters or go around to like kitchen craftsmen or something like that, I mean if you hire smaller businesses most often than not they source materials from the larger companies

I will have a looksie at all the DIY ones.

The base units even if build by a cabinet maker are similar quality to those offered by bunnings, masters, ikea etc.

The top is what im chasing.

Ill post some pics of examples shortly.

Put the cabinets in, then get a stonemason to measure the tops and cut the stone to suit.
