I use a Canny Collar for my Labrador Guide Dog. Only use it because he pulls like a freight train and gets really distracted by other dogs and had pulled me over. Gives more control over the head as opposed to the neck. Obviously also use a harness with him.

As a teenager we got a Flat Coat Retriever from the pound and she was a great pet for 12 years. She came with some issues including a fear of men but ended up being my Dad's shadow :) most dogs from the rescues are temperament checked before being considered for placement. Good on you for wanting to adopt!

over the years I had Labradors, Dobermans, Rottweilers, bovier des flanders, bull terrier, mini schnauzer.
would have another schnauzer...good manners, only tough in his brain, no hair dropping, lived for 16years, great little mate...

Thats strange for a guide dog to act like that! Should never pull or be distracted by other dogs. Thought that was the whole point of a guide dog?

Many Guide Dogs require head collars, they are well trained dogs but at the end of the day they are still a dog :) he's still young (just turned 3) so the trainers believe he should grow out of it.

dogs are easy to train, its the owners that are hard to train.....ruf......ruf....

Bully breeds are great, I would recommend a pup tho as I also got a rescue dog who has a few bad habits which I'm still working on.
