Default Project old school

Hey all

Starting a new project currently, being a ke30 corolla. I picked it up of a mate that had been in his family from new and am the second owner. There is a decent amount of rust in it that I will be attacking shortly but in the process of pulling the non running motor out and rebuilding it. I know it is not Subaru related but I am sure that others will have old schoolers on the go as well. My plan is to either stick an ls or sr20 in it, once I get it relicensed with the standard motor. Would be keen to see others old schoolers as well for inspiration.

Cheers Nathan

That looks like an awesome project Nathan, I love old Toyotas. Have you thought about keeping it all in the family and going a 4AGZE or a 2J? I'll be keeping an eye on this project regardless.

Nice pick up! My first club rally car was a KE20 before moving onto Datsuns. Great little cars. Wasn't there a 1.4 supercharged motor suited to a 30?

I've still got two Datsun project cars slowly taking shape (very slowly), and there's something very satisfying about old metal.

Keen to see LS engine in Toyo.

Do agree that JZ would also be a good choice.

Don't put a freaking 2j in a ke30.

4ag/ze/20v is the easiest. Them a beams. Then sr20.

Ls1 has been done. But can't be engineered

Very nice mate

Tricked up sr20 is a handful in any old kexx shell. My old engine before rebuild has never let me down and took it really well no matter what.

Here is mine all tho you've probably seen it already

Very nice, are we going to see the same attention to detail as the wagon?

Funds are not as free flowing as when I was doing the wagon so it will take a lot longer to get it together. Dzenci, that is pretty much the look I was going for. Just want more of a sleeper this time round.
