Improving sound deadening qualities of external wall

Guys,

I'm looking at making a boundary wall at my place which faces a busy road.

Looking at options to building wall.

1. City of Vincent so what height can I go to? This is a 20m long wall going the side of the property and not the front.

2. Would a brick wall be an option single brick?

Or colour bond fence packed with insulation and then another sheet of colour bond on the other side?

What other recommendations can anyone think of.

Double glazed windows and insulated cavity would be more effective.

I would go a brick wall route. Could only imagine how fuck a double colour bond fence stuffed with insulation would be after a few month in the weather.

What he said, not sure of the logistics of your house, but most of the places I've lived in limestone block retaining walls have worked fairly effectively.

Single brick walls these 1900s house were built in ha The sound isnt a huge issue but im going to change the fence anyway hence the question.

Its also to do with more privacy, when strippers are over for poker nights :D.

Im looking at what options will give the best sound barrier as well as cost wise and fitting in the with landscape of the area.
