Yes, i belive it was Merc that went with teh flame thrower on the sides idea where as BMW went with handles that would give u an electric shock I think these two companies also gave bullet proof windows as an option when buying one of their cars, alot of ppl took this option

Also (used to) happens a lot at the Tonkin Hwy offramp turning onto Great Eastern Highway heading east.. couple of dero kids are always there and they do the same thing, sneak up from behind and start washing!

Best trick is spray your windscreen with the washer and the wipers go, they usually back off then, or give them a TAFE application instead of loose change.

this type of stuff has been going on for quite some time in certain areas. they seem to come and go. can be quite annoying, but at least some of them that do it know when you dont want your windscreens washed and move on to ask the next car.

Haha when this happens to me, i get all my 5 cent pieces out my ash try, usually 10-20.. its only a dollar max! but its worth it... when u put ur window down, wait till the light goes green... then they put out their hand, and just throw the coins all over the ground.. hopefully they get hit by a car as they are trying to pick all the 5 cent pieces up.
