Does anyone know if it's possible to send money from a National Bank account via the net to an account in the USA? Or is there some process i have to go through?

A mate told me to go through paypal, but i haven't been bothered to set it up.

Paypal FTW! Definitely the safest way. Unless, you know who it is and trust the person you are transfering to. Then just go to your bank and wire transfer it.

Some banks have a international transfer facility built into the NetBanking Program. But you usually have to go down to the bank to get this setup first anyway.

whatever you do, dont do western union.. i know of a few burned that way...

depends which bank? i set mine up over the net (online banking option) to sends funds internationally and have done so before..... it takes a bit longer than your norm national transfers and you need a fair bit of info about the person/business u sending it to.

for me it was easy and never went near a branch

Im with WEstpac and Ive never had a problem transferring internationally with netbanking ... !

any bank can do a telegraphic transfer of funds, but its expensive and slow!

basically it will cost u ~30 bux to send money out, when the money arrives at their bank, commission will be taken out at their end!
