You can buy a full kit which includes a motor, subframe, etc etc so you can bolt it into place where the old motor and tranny used to be for about &11,000 pounds.

Some kits for the smart put the engine in the middle of the car while the others have a full subframe that places the engine where the boot used to be. Better for figure 8 donuts in the garage methinks.

Was trying to get around the fact of buying a kit would rather find someone who could help work through the process here in Perth...

Minibusa would be sweet but again too technically minded for me. Plus trying to get something that would be road legal. Otherwise i might as well order an Atom Ariel 2
