Awesome day. Hope most prople wore sun screen, saw heaps of pink people. I got pink knees (forgot about my knees).

Was having a beer in Scarbs afterwards and a commonwhore pulled up at the lights, accross the road....green... he floored it and was loud as.... but right at that moment a few jets blasted past. literally stole his thunder! Well at least I was amused.

well as good as the race was, and i did enjoy watching it, the planes did piss me off, especially the hornets. mainly because they go full throttle for a climb right on top of my apartment.

I finish work at 6 am, 12 hr night shifts. By 11 am I feel like shooting the damn planes down.

But it was a good show though

I think the problem personally (for non flyers) is, unlike car based motrosports, the lack of ability to personally relate to what's going on in the plane. So, from the point of view of someone who likes cars as opposed to planes, (watching it live) it's a little like watching Brokeback Mountain as opposed to watching Jessica Alba..

Watching it on TV was better though, cause the in plane footage and muilti camera work, plus the interviews with the pilots and commentry made it a bit more relevant for someone with only a marginal interest in the event..
