Stupid Speed Camera

....all I can say is.....FUCKING SPEED CAMERAS :angryfire
and I was doing so well, only ever lost 1 point off my licience since I had it (7.5 yrs)
Bastard of a thing is I knew the camera was on that section of the road, but I got distracted looking for a shop along the road and failed to pay attention to my speed. :(
75kph in a 60 zone, not so bad when compared to what some are, but I just got billed for the transfer fee for my wrx. ($1150.20)
hehe looks like I wont have a social life for a few weeks :p

you'll probably only get done for less than 10km over, which is zero points and $100.

isnt it only 50 bucks, last time i got done was 77 in a 70 about 2 months ago anf it was 50.

thats true... 10-19pm over the limit is $100 and 1 point. anything less thatn 9km over is no points and $50 towards the end of year police xmas party!

i was wrong, you are right.

hmm i thought it was 10 - 15km = $100 + 1 point
>15km = more
ah well, my mistake.

yes but they usually minus %10 of whatever speed you doing and book you for that.

ImPreSiV 08-10-2006 07:02 AM

not with camera infringements... the taking off of speed to drop you into a different bracket (ie: if u were going 22 km over the limit the officer might drop you back to 19km over so you only get 1 point) only occurs if the officer is having a good day, and he actually pulls you over on the spot. The camera system you get booked for what you were doing over the limit. no if's, but's or maybe's.

It is.

0-9kms over = $50 and no points (although imagine getting pinged for doing 7kms over )
10-19kms = $100 and 1 pt
20-29kms = $150 and 2 pts
30-39kms = $250 and 4 pts
40+ = $350 and 6pts

i got pinged for 64 in a 60 a year or so back and of recent a mate got 62 in a 60 a few weeks ago.

Thing is multanovas are suppose to be setup with a full checklist , calibrated etc, and i think the makers of the product itself recommend a tolerance of 3-5 km but i dont think thats ever passed on to the motorist, as in if the machine reads 67 then you were doing 67 not possible 62-64 as it might be.

You can try contesting it to find out if the camera was actually setup properly and calibrated properly when you got your ticket as this can be grounds to have the ticket dismissed, but last time i tried obtaining the info it would be $30 and a bunch of fkin around, just paid the $50 in the end. I guess thats the problem, we just take the easy way out.
