Imported Cars Radio/CD
Hope someone can help.
My brother has just bought an imported skyline with a kenwood CD/radio DPX710MD, and it will not pick up our stations. Is there anywhere that he can take it to be fixed? Or just throw in the bin and start again? |
Its not broken, in JapLand, radios run on lower freqencies than Aus. You can get a converter, to make it work, but your far better off just getting a el cheapo super cheap spec deck to make it pick up aus radio.

The GTR had the stock Nissan CD/tuner (upon removal it is a clarion) - radio went from 70fm to 90fm - lol
Just buy a new deck - its the easiest option. I had a new Alpine system installed 2 weeks ago. |
Converters cost about $40 from most car audio shops... It raises the frequency of the deck between 10 and 20 hertz depending on the convertor.. Certainly cheaper than buying a new deck especially if the jap one is a top brand/model..

"FM Frequency Modulator" is available from Jaycar in Northbridge.. Easy to fit!!
