Imported Cars Radio/CD
Hope someone can help.
My brother has just bought an imported skyline with a kenwood CD/radio DPX710MD, and it will not pick up our stations. Is there anywhere that he can take it to be fixed? Or just throw in the bin and start again?

Its not broken, in JapLand, radios run on lower freqencies than Aus. You can get a converter, to make it work, but your far better off just getting a el cheapo super cheap spec deck to make it pick up aus radio.

The GTR had the stock Nissan CD/tuner (upon removal it is a clarion) - radio went from 70fm to 90fm - lol
Just buy a new deck - its the easiest option. I had a new Alpine system installed 2 weeks ago. |

Converters cost about $40 from most car audio shops... It raises the frequency of the deck between 10 and 20 hertz depending on the convertor.. Certainly cheaper than buying a new deck especially if the jap one is a top brand/model..
