things like:
* The weight of your car (To the nearest gram). This includes the
drivers weight, and also takes into account what you have in the boot.
* The TOTAL power output of your engine.
* The type of fuel you are running.
* Wind resistance, especially due to the broken rear spoiler.
* Relative resistance of the road surface based on ISO standards
for asphalt of that type and ambient temperature.

Given this, he uses his advanced degree in physics to calculate the 93.75%.

Go and catch a real criminal.

i always thought as long as you dont break traction, exceed the speed limit and interfere with other cars ( eg cut em off etc ) you can reach the speed limit as quick as you want!
i also know cops will pull people over if it wasn't them tho!! hey skeptic!

You can accelerate as fast as you want to up, to the speed limit, there is no such law as excessive acceleration. You can even spin the tires when taking off from the lights, as long as it not as we cops say excessive.

For example smoke emitting from the tyres and causing the tyres to break traction and making a black mark on the road.

You can do a little wheel spin as long as its not excessive and thats up the officer witnessing the incident to determine.

If you accelerate and swerve all over the road in doing so then you will be done for careless driving.

The point the police officer is trying to make is that if your accelerating to piss the police officer off or to bring attention to yourself then your only looking for trouble.

Most people in WRX's dont want Police Attention and especially a pissed officer traffic officer

I had a similar thing happen to me, these D's pulled me over claiming I'd cut them off.

I changed two lanes without stopping in the first so I could make an exit. They were trying to trip me up with things like "so where are you coming from... ohh yeah so you've had a couple of K's to change lanes"... and "mate I've been doing this job for 10 years, I can tell when someone is speeding".

They went over the car & in the end they said "alright mate well you can expect a summons in the mail"... "what for?", "dangerous driving". I was packing shit for days, getting my defense ready. Pricks, that’s exactly what they wanted.

Accelerate from the lights in my unmodded Club Spec Evo 3 WRX (Dark Grey). 1 week old.
Flashing blue lights.....
Here we go....

Police Officer: "So Sir what do you think you are doing taking off from the lights like that ?"

"What do you mean 'like that', can you explain what I was doing wrong Sir ?"

"You accelerated too quickly from the lights back there and broke the speed limit"

"Oh I see I drove from the lights too quickly, and you thought I was speeding ? Sir you do know this is a Turbo charged car, it will accelerate quickly up to the speed limit when the turbo kicks in. I think thats what Subaru designed the car to do to win rallys ?"

Officer:
"Now don't get smart with me, or we will book you for speeding. Please give me your licence and then blow into this machine till I say stop."

" I'm not trying to be smart, could you show me a reading of the speed I was doing if you think it was excessive ?"

Police were travelling down a side street at the time and had no idea.

A rather large pregnant pause "You were accelerating too quickly from the lights, and speeding, I can judge your speed due to my experience in this job"

"Ok then if you say so, you will have to write me a ticket. I'm telling you I was not speeding. Can you please tell my when accelerating up to the speed limit quickly became a crime ?"

Larger pregnant pause.... conversation changes tack....
"I'm asking you to slow down or we will book you for speeding next time"

"Ok I'll try"

"You had better or I will write you a ticket next time and I won't be so lenient"

"Right, Seeya"

After that little encounter I think I was pulled over and breath tested/ licence checked about once every 3 to 4 weeks for about a year... Not once done for anything.
