Default So much for double-demerits

Let me paint a scene...

Today, 9:20am. Wellington street at the corner of William heading east.
Black XR6 sedan sitting in the TURN RIGHT ONLY BUS LANE
Lights go green, XR6 swerves across in front of a truck to go straight
through intersection, proceeds to accelerate hard.
Engine can be heard screaming as the car only just negotiates
the traffic cones throught the construction site at high speed.

Now call me old fashioned but this would earn a NORMAL person
the following sorts of things in the form of many tickets...
1. Speeding.
2. Changing lanes across an intersection
3. Fail to indicate.
4. Reckless driving.
5. Proceeding straight from a TURN RIGHT ONLY lane.

Now the punch line. IT WAS A POLICE CAR. Unmarked, no lights
or sirens going. I guess safety around this time of year is not
so important after all. As it sped off I could see the 3 uniformed
officers, and the lights installed in the car windows, but they
didn't have them on.

How can the govt expect normal people to take double-demerits
and road safety seriously when obvious daylight displays like the one
above continue to occur by people who consider themselves above
the law and should be setting an example.

You can draw your own conclusions.

police and the government are bum chums, they set their own rules. i no its unfair but who is goin to do something about it. i spose if u wanted to get them just grab their number plate n report it to the local police station, not sure wat wld happen though.
Dont like the police personally n wld think most people agree with that here haha.

They're the powleece. They can do whatever they want.

Lodge a complaint and/or whatever you want.... but good chance it'll get "lost".

I remember when I lived in East Perth, come a shift change, there would be cops everywhere!! I used to see them doing dumb shit sometimes - like flying up plain street, having a squirt from the lights etc. Pisses you off but what can you do - but your right... so much for setting an example

bunch of idiots....

should take down the plate number and complain...dunno how far that'd get you but.

ive learnt recently how much some are a bunch of fukwits and talk shit out their ass, take my reckless driving charge for example. made up AND exagerated a whole bunch of crap on the statement and changed what they said to my face at the time of pulling me over. decided to stand up to em and takin them to court.

dont get me wrong though they arent all this way, i know there is alot of fair cops out there, met a few of them.

i think they actually take complaints seriously.... i've heard stories of such events... i woulda got the plate and go put a police report in stating exactly what you saw... thanks to the new changes in hoon laws, all you need is a statement proving someone was being a hoon... i think it works against the police aswell..

too bad you don't have a video camera.

Of course any decent workplace takes complaints against their employees seriously. If your not happy with a persons attitude etc etc you should always grab a few details and make a complaint. As much as some of them DO think they are above the law, their not!

Really helps if you have a name or number plate though. Also keep in mind that most phones have video in them now. Comes in very handy in situations like this.

Also dont let it get "los". Paper trails FTW (and make it known) and if the complaint is handled properly, keep on hassling the employer concerned.
