Beltronics XR950
Anyone using the XR950 ? Looking to get 1 of these some time soon.
Heard the XR950 is supposed to be a new unit to replace the RX65. How do they compare to the Beltronics STi Driver other than its RDD capabilities ? Last edited by AC Schnitzer; 12-01-2007 at 12:00 AM. |

The Bel's are the worst at picking up Multanovas (compared to Escort or Valentine).
They are "replacing" the RX65 with the XR950 because it is the "Australian & NZ version". Which means all the Perth stores will be told "this is the best detector available" and so the store sales staff will repeat back to the consumer "this is the best detector available". If you want proof I'll shoot some videos of them side by side. The vector won't perform as good as the STi because vector is an older platform. And even the STi doesn't pick up Multanovas very well ALL the time. Last edited by jezzamcbezza; 13-01-2007 at 06:26 AM. |

The Vector series is a lower performance model than the RX65 - just have a look on the Beltronics website.

hmm thats interesting. If this is true, than the XR950 is simply not worth it.
Who sells the Escort Passport 8500 X50 in Perth ? I previously bought mine from Motorquippe in cannington. Don't think they carry other range of detectors. |

looks like about a dozen or so drivers could have used one right now out front of my building on Kings Park Rd W. Perth as the boys in blue are set up behind a bus stop with hand held radar nailing people heading west towards Suby!

The video test looks good although on certain websites the STi XR seems to perform at the same level.
I just ordered the Escort X50 and waiting to collect it. |
