have it face forward becuase the sensor on top of the unit gets cars or radar from behind u as well .

I drove to bunbury today and back and it picked up multinova and two cops on handheld both way out where u wouldnt expect to see cops.

I guess rule of the thumb would be picking up alerts where you normally wouldnt hear em.

Went through tunnel both ways last night no alerts, so probably be someone with you in the tunnel at that time Jaron ? I guess that dispells the rumour again about cameras in the tunnel, will being down another run in there this arvo.

As for unmarked Ive come across a black R6 Turbo and a Red SS Commie.

Saw the Xr again last night in fact 3 guys and they gave it some of the lights onto graham farmer from intersection of east parade, probably expecting me to keep up.

From what i can tell the Xr6 has the usual dash mounted spectre so should be your regular K band like most highway patrols etc.

In the tunnel it was more likely to be another radar detector setting yours off.

I got done today by a hand held on Stirling Hwy. Going down the hill, picked up speed gradually and didn't realise i'd gone over the limit. Someone slap me. Stupid, stupid mistake. Serves me right i guess. The cop was cool though, very nice guy.

Might go out and buy myself a detector. Been meaning too for ages..

I couldn't expect that much from him! He dropped a few km's, talked to me about the car as he liked it quite a bit. Oh well, my fault. Shit happens!

had a short K band alert in tunnel heading north. Only a 3-4 bar so guess its still someone else in the tunnel as detectors get more and more popular.

Had a full laser alert from a school watch car. wtf are those ?
