Default Microsft office word excel powerpoint keeps crashing

Another computer problem for all u genuises.

Every time i open up a new document in either word, excel or powerpoint then try and save it. The document always freezes up and i have to shut the program down.

Ive tried deleting office then re-installing it and it dosent seem to help.

Any advice would be great..

That is a by-design programming feature inbuilt into all Microsoft Products.

Just look at vista!

Ok enough PC bashing

Locate a file called NORMAL.DOT in your documents and settings, find ALL instances of it and hit SHIFT+DELETE

with all office closed, you will lose autotext if any and a couple of other not so important things and problem will be solvered*

*maybe

normal.dot is your settings file for documents, it fucks up and causes your issue, I see it at least twice a day.

ps buy a Mac all of your issues will disappear

/mac salesman off

Try as Dan said.

Failing that consider trying another office system, such as OpenOffice. It's free and does everything and then some more of what MS Office can do.

http://www.openoffice.org/

Usually good if MS Office is being a PITA and you need to access or create a document ASAP.

Thanks for the spell check.

It will be some dodgy porn dialer or something that you will be installing which will be screwing stuff up. I have never seen the control panel stop opening. maybe try and open the control panel via the run command rather than clicking on the shortcut in My computer/Start.
