Default Comparo

Has anyone on here had more than one aftermarket ECU in their car (same motor etc) and the comparos between.

There is always people with one type of ecu with comments or opinions on other ecu's either 'from what they've read' or from previous experience (normally on a different motor with different mods etc).

So if you've used more than one ECU on your setup, post up with figures, pros and cons of each etc etc.

Yep - Ecutek custom tune vs Autronic SM4 - same car, same mods, same tuner, same dyno, same day - SM4 gained extra power & torque over the entire rev range (no extra boost, no leaner AFR's, etc). It's been 6 months+ with the SM4 - car has started 'every time', idles perfectly, has 'never' stalled, a/c worked a treat over summer - couldn't be happier.

Cons - fuel economy ain't as good as before, but that's a small whinge.

I've still got the Ecutek ecu in a box, tuned & ready to plug-in, in case I want to go for a down south holiday & want some better fuel economy on longer highway trips or in case the SM4 shits itself.

MoTeC M800 and Link 44S.

MoTeC not only gained power, but it had better driveability and better fuel economy.

Ask Maximum Motorsport...they recently changed from MoTec to Autronic for the Forest Rally on Dean's rally car....at R1 in Qld he was 1 to 1.5 sec per km behind Simon Evans' pace and at the Forest he was less than 0.5 sec per km off Simon.

Link 44s to Autronic SMC

More power, more tourque, better fuel economy, idles better, more controlled boost, better off boost drivability. Same tuner both times with back to back results in the same day.

i don't suppose it had anything to do with the fact that hes a local boy and more used to the WA roads, or had more time in the car or different compound tyres ?
