i have a jvc GZ-MC500, it 5 mega-pixle, is this a good camera for photos of the quality that i have seen in the gallary? and whats tele-macro?

tele - means large focal distances.. - ie u can see things from fara away (commonly mistaken as a zoom).

macro means u can focus at objects really close - good for taking pictures of bugs and similar....

join them together... u get tele-macro

although most tele's arnt that good at macros unless they have a set of extension tubes attached.

isnt the JVC GZ-MC500 a camcorder?

its not what gear you have its how you use it dude, sure SLRs pretty much kick ass but you can still get sweet shots with a point and shoot.
